Google has unveiled its first leak of the fall, showcasing renders of the upcoming Pixel 9A. Similar to the Pixel 8A leak earlier this year, Android Headlines has once again obtained images of Google's next budget A-series release, this time courtesy of OnLeaks, the source behind the recent Pixel 9 lineup leak.
The Pixel 9A introduces a significant change by abandoning the signature visor camera housing seen on previous Google devices. Instead, it features a pill-shaped module with dual cameras that sits nearly flush with the phone's rear. A camera flash is positioned on the right, reminiscent of the iPhone 7 Plus but on a larger scale. The rest of the phone's design aligns with other Pixel 9 devices and current iPhones, featuring thin bezels around the screen.
Android Headlines suggests that the 9A may ship with Android 15 and could be the final Google device powered by a Samsung-based Tensor chip. Google is rumored to transition to TSMC for future processors in 2025. As the A-series phones are typically released in the spring during Google I/O, we may have to wait a while for more details.
